Faculty: we're interested in collecting your assignments for open use. The "ten thousand" is a nod to the Taoist metaphor for everything, the works. We also intend it literally: why not ten thousand writing assignments generated by high school teachers, grad student teaching assistants, part-time and full-time college faculty? Instead of relying upon textbooks and readers that can too easily dictate our classrooms, let's draw upon our own local resources and imaginations.
